Vance County High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic High School Spanish Teacher to join our diverse and dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching the Spanish language and culture, and a commitment to helping students achieve linguistic proficiency. This role involves planning, delivering, and assessing instruction in Spanish, while fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that encourages language acquisition and cultural awareness.
Key Responsibilities:

Instructional Planning and Delivery:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and the Vance County Schools curriculum, focusing on language skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) and cultural understanding.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying levels of language proficiency.
- Integrate technology, authentic materials, and real-world applications to enhance language learning and cultural immersion.

Classroom Management:
- Establish and maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment that supports learning and student engagement.
- Implement classroom rules and procedures that encourage positive behavior and create a safe and orderly learning environment.
- Address and manage student behavior issues in accordance with school policies and procedures.

Assessment and Evaluation:
- Regularly assess student progress and language proficiency through a variety of formative and summative assessments, including quizzes, tests, oral presentations, and projects.
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to help them improve their language skills.
- Use assessment data to inform instructional decisions and adjust teaching strategies as needed.

Collaboration and Professional Development:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and implement school-wide and departmental initiatives, including interdisciplinary projects and cultural events.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with trends in language education and pedagogy.
- Attend and contribute to departmental, school, and district meetings as required.

Student Support and Advocacy:
- Serve as a mentor and advocate for students, providing guidance and support to help them succeed academically and personally.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians to support student progress and address any concerns.
- Offer additional support and enrichment opportunities for students needing extra help or seeking to advance their language skills.

Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and other required documentation.
- Prepare and submit grades, reports, and other administrative paperwork in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and regulations.
